The problem

Coadjute was building something genuinely novel: a distributed blockchain network designed to connect every participant in a UK property transaction. Banks, conveyancers, estate agents, and mortgage brokers. The architecture had to be secure, scalable, and capable of handling sensitive legal and financial data across organisations that did not trust each other by default.

The founding team had strong domain knowledge but needed senior technical leadership to translate that vision into an architecture that could survive investor scrutiny, regulatory pressure, and the demands of a live production environment.

What I did

I designed and led the implementation of the distributed blockchain infrastructure from the ground up. Built the common data model enabling connections between independent CRMs via APIs. Established the technical architecture, security posture, and delivery processes that would underpin a platform connecting the entire UK property market.

Managed the technical due diligence for Praetura Ventures. The specialist firm they appointed raised zero issues. Raised £6m bringing the total to over £10m. Implemented a remote-first working strategy including full team recruitment and onboarding. Developed the security development lifecycle for ISO 27001 certification. Drew up plans for a blockchain managed service including disaster recovery, failover, compliance, and security.

That result does not happen by accident. It happens when the architecture is genuinely sound, the security controls are embedded rather than bolted on, and the team can articulate every decision clearly under pressure.

"We had an independent consultant conduct a technical Due Diligence on us for investors and came through with flying colours. A result Rees should be proud of."
